Say My Name

Say My Name

With the window cracked,
And the dust entering the room,
The files and the pages twirling around the room,
Just when the I needed everyone the most, all I had was dust.

Sacrifice was all I did,
From the moment I saw you,
The position where I was,
Had handed me the world on a silver platter.

But I had to leave it for you,
Because you needed a self made person to believe,
With each and every step to the top,
Making me pant for my breath.

I guess this is how life is,
On the other side,
Where success is everything and how it defines a person,
Money is the new way to describe people.

Slowly and slowly I lost who I was,
From the nice sweet hearted soul you once met,
To an egoistic sick arrogant ghost of a man that you fear,
You had trusted me to be there to protect you.

You needed me to hold you,
And protect you whenever you needed,
Now here I am enshrined by the dark,
Asking you to save me.

With your love surrounding me,
And looking at me with your almond eyes,
The broken soul in me asking you to protect me from who I have become,
Because without you I would have nothing at all.

The tsunami of emotions hitting the shores of my mind,
With the flashbacks of the person I once was,
Fighting the man who I am today,
I see you laying besides me,
Saying my name.

Immortal

Immortal

While the world mourns,
About a life that you had led for them,
The ground beneath me now infested with cracks,
The foundation that we had laid now weakening.

We were young when we first met,
The charm had a certain allure to it,
Like an addict I knew I would be incomplete without you,
Before you I had no where to go to.

You not only gave my soul a destination,
The vagabond within me was now at peace,
With happiness being alien to me,
You had finally found the path that would lead me there.

With you now being the centre of my world,
I had devoted my life to you,
Walking with you on the path of roses,
To the end of the road.

With the pressure of the public eye,
To the day you got shot,
I had tried to showcase grit,
When all I was a broken soul fearing for you.

And as the life had taken a stride towards normalcy,
You had that look in the eye,
As the first day I saw you,
With you losing a battle untold.

I saw you lose control of yourself,
The emotional breakdown,
To the angst you had,
The lost look that you would have.

With the years you had to bear through,
Trying to remember everything,
Suffering from Alzheimer's was never easy,
Slowly I had lost you forever.

And today,
After 8 years of separation,
We meet again,
To script a new chapter to our immortal love story.

That's The Truth

That's The Truth

While the room was full of people,
It still felt empty,
With us pinned against each other,
Who in his right mind would have thought that we would end this way.

Amidst the arguments and accusation,
I could see you from the corner of my eye,
With that spark lost in the sands of time,
Pushing me to forget about us.

The love that had etched us till forever,
Has now vanished from our lives,
With adultery and deceit becoming the reality of our love,
You were my drug and I was your wine.

Then the façade was over,
With each passing second suffocating the love out of us,
That fateful night when you had slapped my face with the worst nightmare,
A paper changing our fate forever.

I tried hard enough to be with you,
Stopping you from ruining the best thing that ever happened to me,
Had become my priority,
With day after day and night after night, I had almost showered you with love.

 But almost is never enough,
When on that snowy night,
You had decided to leave me alone,
Making me a ghost of the house made up of our memories.

With all the lawyers juggling with their paperwork,
All I could do was just look at you for one final time,
Before the world as we knew it changed.
With the present and the past colliding.

I am caught here in between,
Only if we could go before the storm came raging in our lives,
Destroying our identity,
Not realising what we have to lose.

No matter what the verdict is,
At the ends we are the only ones who are going to lose,
With the love gone,
All I want to say is "Baby, Don't go."
And that's the truth.

What is Love? You

You

With each passing second of the day,
All my life's work stare right at me,
Making me wonder if it was worth it,
To let you go for a life which suffocates me.

We had known each other since college,
From the rash arrogant classmate I was,
To the most popular girl that you were,
Yet we clicked the first day when we had set our gaze upon one and other.

We had stated a dream of an empire together,
Irrespective of the feelings we had,
Years had passed,
And the feelings died.

But who knew that it would be short lived,
I had become what we had dreamt about about,
With the empire now built,
On the broken ambitions of the people we knew.

The very foundation being set and the dream turning into reality,
I look behind me only to find you lost in your thoughts,
With the look that you had when you first met me,
That was the moment when I realized what I had lost.

Now as I see you leaving me,
You have left me thinking,
About you and why you hadn't left me for my inabilities,
I had fought hard to protect you when you were petrified.

You never had been complained about how I had never been there for you,
Yet you stood behind me when I needed a driving force forward,
And now as you go,
I remember the time we had spent building our dream.

Only to see how you sacrificed your life for mine,
While I did the same for you,
Doing everything in my capacity,
If only you could have seen me.

If only you had ventured into my eyes,
And lost your self in the land unknown,
You would have seen the palace I had built for you,
What is love? People ask me today,
And like a dumbfounded child all I can think about is you.

You're in My Veins (The Final Part)

You're In My Veins(The Final Part)

You have always talked about the final one;
A world where it would be only us and us alone,
This was the dream,
This was the goal.

Who knew that it wasn't gonna happen;
With the people around us,
thwarting our feelings with force,
With the pool of tears around us and with welled up eyes we parted ways.

it wasn't easy to survive,
With each day every breath I took,
Instead of breathing oxygen,
it was poison that I inhaled.

We were drifted apart;
By the very people that we cared about,
With the alcohol and the cocaine being my key to solace,
I always think of us like the way we used to be.

I tried hard not to undergo the pain;
But it wasn't meant to be,
With each breath being heavy,
And your memories hard to forget.

I drenched my soul in smoke and alcohol;
I thought it would help me erase you from my mind,
Erase the memories we created,
And the stolen kisses that we shared.

As I sit here today in complete darkness;
All i can think is about you,
it feels as if you are still here,
Haunting my existence with the curse of your memories.

I sit smoking away with a glass of my blood by my side,
The wrist hanging dry over it,
And the veins open for you to get out of my soul,
The cuts now cover my skin,

The moon weeps tonight;
On seeing life drain out of my eyes,
I am left thinking in my delirious state about you being with me,
With the cocaine and alcohol taking its toll,
All I can think about is your ghost leaving me forever,
With the last drop of my blood dripping away I see you in my veins.

The Promise

The Promise

As I sit by the river;
I think of the stories that this river has,
Some sunk in the very depths,
And some had floated.

Let me tell you a tale;
Of a love story that sunk,
With a few stories down in the depth of the rivers,
Just like the pebbles that now rest at the bed.

He was sitting in the park;
Trying hard not to battle his mind,
With the thoughts of his past haunting him,
His eyes had laid eyes on something which had caught his eye.

She sat there in front of him;
Feeding the pigeons with an innocence in her eyes,
But something was unique about her,
That captivated his attention in her.

The scars on her body had a story;
And the pain in his eyes were immense,
The world around them seemed still,
As their eyes were speaking.

In the world where religions and caste;
Colour and race were everything,
They had fell in love with the just a sight,
Ignoring the cynical stereotypes.

Guess it wasn't enough;
With the world feeding on their souls,
Trying to break their bodies,
And the young souls into fragments.

But luck had its way;
The lovers were distanced and the world came in,
With the scars on her soul and the pain in his eyes,
They were stolen from each other.

After ten years;
They meet once again,
And the love still warm enough,
this fragmented love story was complete,
Only to see them holding their hands and breathing their last.

They had fulfilled their promise;
To be together in the end,
When no one in their lives would matter,
Only love being with them forever.

What If We Ruin It All

What If We Ruin It All

I had struggled to get hold of my life;
With the world acting like a planet full of sinners,
I never thought my faith would ever be restored,
And my heart would ever feel this way for someone.

That winter morning was different;
While all the people were trying to find their staggered steps home,
You were there looking like as perfect as a snowflake,
Just like a fairy straight out of a young kids dream.

I was mesmerised and inert to everything around me;
We met the next day at a meeting,
Who knew that fate could play games like this,
And we would then be more than friends.

From the promises to never leave each other's side;
No matter how extreme it would be,
I promised you a life full of hardships and hurdles,
Only to reach us at the top.

We had loved each other since years;
But never accepted it and ignored the heart,
Our hearts had been playing a game all together,
While the souls chose to suffer.

You were my only friend;
Who tried to tame me down during my anxieties,
And when I at a weak moment couldn't contain it,
I told you I liked you but never admitted that I loved you.

And then you lashed out;
it had been 8 years since we knew each other,
And you never told me how you felt,
You relapsed and hugged me

We shared a moment which we never should have;
Accepting how we felt only to be feared all our lives,
Asking ourselves one single question if,
What if we ruin it all.
