Destiny

Destiny

Often we have heard,
People saying it was destiny's choice,
Whenever something happened,
Not knowing the reason why it happened.

What if destiny was never your friend,
Just for a second you just look back at your life again,
Wondering if everything you had done was just a part of a big plan,
Or if you were just a part of an even bigger act.

I never believed in destiny,
Never did I believe in it till I encountered you,
Funny isn't it?
The one thing that you never believed your entire life,
Is the one that makes you think about life in a new light.

I always was a fan of timing,
Fantasised about the very concept,
About how we humans were so dedicated to the imaginary image of good,
And how we were just blinded by our faith in it.

She was just like the midsummer moonlight breeze,
Cool and pleasing for everyone to fall for her,
Those eyes which were just like peals lost in the depths of the ocean,
Just saw through my soul and in a heartbeat won me over.

Gradual meetings just became the moment of the day when I felt alive,
Was this what people called destiny or was it just a coincidence,
Never could I figure it out,
Only thing being that the more time I spent with her.

The more slavish I was to her contagious smile,
Leaving me deep in love,
With you being the one thing which now completes me,
Driving my soul forward just to make you proud of me.

I always was a fan of timing and not destiny,
But ever since she came,
This unsolvable enigma life,
Seems to have unravelled to me.

One of the most misunderstood souls,
Might be destined to be with her,
Strange it is about life,
That when you have rescinded your faith in something,
It finds a medium to reinstate your faith back into it.

Redemption

Redemption

As he lit his final cigarette from his box,
He stood near the balcony,
Looking as far as his eyes could see,
Trying to fend off his mind from the ghost of his past.

With each puff that he let go,
It seemed like a load off his shoulder,
Trying to see past the smoke into his fate,
Just trying hard to undo a mistake that made him this way.

With a heart as big as the Grand Canyon,
All he wanted to do was to keep the people that mattered happy,
Not knowing what would it cost him,
Or even if the people were worth it.

Just when he thought he had everything sorted,
His life went down a downward spiral,
Never could he have believed,
That his soul could have been bought.

One small mistake did put him through a lot of trouble,
With his heart ripped out from his soul,
As per the deal that he had made
Searching the land for a shelter.

Lucifer had done well to train his minions,
Preparing them to be his agents of mischief,
And us humans to be his victims,
Selling our souls for the worldly pleasures.

I did the same with her,
Trying hard to make myself a part of her life,
Playing whatever card was possible to get a chance to spend some time with her,
Only to realise that he had to rat out his friend.

So was her charm that he had done whatever she asked,
From the sacred secrets to the facts that no one knew,
He was his friends aide only to turn into the first hammer strike that knocked him down,
Worried of what he had done,

Trying hard to undo his mistake,
Only to see that there is no going back,
With a crumbled sou of his dreams and desires in his hand,
A tear was the only thing that he could shed.

When everything else failed,
He met a person who was lost,
In the very maze of life,
Just as it seemed a sign to redeem himself.

As he today becomes the a man greater than me,
I sit at the backseat,
Just waiting for them to see me through,
To see the road to redemption I had to go through.

As I today stand in the balcony,
Smoking my last cigarette,
Thinking about the things I had to go through,
To buy my soul back from Lucifer.

If I Could Read Your Mind

If I Could Read Your Mind

A silent night with nothing but the moon beaming right upon us,
Holding you from behind and gazing the starry night sky,
Wondering about how my life would have turned out,
If I would have never crashed into you.

Just like a Nightingale singing in the forest,
I could hear you from my apartment,
Only to my surprise,
To see you looking at me.

From awkward glances to casual hellos,
Our fate was entwined with each other,
To cross paths whenever any of us failed,
To pick ourselves together and to fall in love.

As today I hold you in my arms,
Only to be lost in the seas of your eyes,
Wishing if I could read your mind,
Just to read your thoughts and relive the tales behind them together.

Like a maniac stranded in sea for survival,
Trying hard to find a shore to live on,
Searching from horizon to horizon,
Just to reach a place where he could die.

If I could read your mind, love,
Would you have made me a part of your life,
And never leave me to be like a ghost,
Cursed to live in world without everything it loves.

With you caressing my hair,
Looking at me intently,
Assuring me that everything I worry about is gone,
Lost in a time before us.

Brushing my lips with hers,
Putting the last piece of the puzzle,
Which was the picture of my life,
She was an artist and I was her canvas.

The Long Goodbye

The Long Goodbye

The table in front of him was trashed,
With papers and files laying around,
With the dustbin with burning papers,
Sat there a man kneeling down.

Wondering where did he get wrong,
From the star performer to the star failure,
A journey from the top of the mountain,
To the depth to ocean,

He did whatever was right for the job,
Sacrificing his life for the world full of paper towers and pen stacks,
Breaking down every point of limitations
Only to find a way to excel in his art.

He did everything to provide her a life of satisfaction,
A life of no complaints,
For him she completed him,
The only fault of his was that he forgot her.

While trying to make himself,
He forgot the main thing that made him who he was,
It was not the stack of money in his bank or the expensive ride outside his house,
It was nothing but her.

She was the only one who had his back,
Only to be realised that it was only one person in that relationship,
She tried to be with him,
Reason with him destroying his world of myths and workaholic lifestyle.

Denting his life into a million pieces,
Trying to rebuild his life but it was just a menace,
Only to find him to be a brittle soul,
And she was not the glue to hold them together.

Just what they thought was a mere cadaver,
And a worthless effort to resuscitate it,
She left him to be better only to see him fall,
From the world of heaven he fell to the scorched land of hell.

Only to see the world around him collide,
And crumble down to their very foundations,
Then he found a letter from her,
Only to say him a long goodbye.

Teardrops from the Sky

Teardrops From The Sky

Life at a stand still,
Everything around him just tearing apart,
Just as a ship engulfed in a storm,
His heart was breaking apart,

The man who had everything,
Felt like the man who lost his biggest possession,
His biggest strength was just his worst weakness,
In a whirlpool of memories that he is a victim of.

Her memories now have taken him as their captive,
Beautiful she was and brutally honest were her thoughts,
He had lost his heart in a split second,
Knowing that his life would now only revolve around her.

Everyday he worked hard to be the man she wanted,
Being ruthless at his business,
Diplomatic at his best and a fixer when he wanted to be,
With her around he used to be himself.

She found the shy little kid inside him,
Making him feel alive every now and then,
Giving him all the love in the world,
Pampering the little kind inside him.

Who had a clue that the very kid she pampered,
Was just a ghost from his life,
Buried deep inside all the hate that made him,
His biggest pillar would collapse underneath his reality.

She left him the very moment what she thought was the right time,
Not knowing that how she would destroy him,
In an attempt to save him,
She took away his heart and burnt his memories.

Stripping him of his life,
Leaving him during his struggles with life,
Not knowing what he was enduring from his past,
Forgetting her was easy but the memories that now haunted him were forever.

Breaking himself again,
Destroying everything that was a reminder of her memory,
Slashing his body to be filled with scars,
And getting her out of his system was his task.

As the clouds settled in,
Wreaking havoc on the world as it is,
With the last drop of rain,
His eyes twinkled for the last time.

As he coughed his blood,
He knew she would see him,
With one last step forward from him on the ledge,
Bleeding from his wrists.

He jumps with a smile on his face,
And his eyes with a little tear,
In an instance she glances up,
To see the teardrops from the sky.

The Voice

The Voice

The voice still ringing in his ears,
Still the roaring rage hidden inside of him,
Screamed at a decibel that only the animals could hear
Breaking everything that he had built,

A man who had lived his life for his science,
Trying to find ways to make the world a better place,
Humble than any human being alive,
Soft spoken and always had a kind gaze whenever he looked.

Studying everyone that passes him,
As if he is trying to remember someone from the crowd,
Trying to make sure if that face is there in reality,
Or just a figment from his imagination.

With his eyes turning black as if the devil had possessed his soul,
He wandered throughout the town,
Wreaking every soul from the face of the earth,
Trying hard to find someone to control him

She stood there in fear,
Looking at the mayhem that he had left behind,
From the man he once was,
To a monster that he had become.

Her heart was always in his hands,
The life that they had created,
Was left in shambles,
The eyes still had those lost expression as if they were asking her for help.

Destroying every bit of life,
That he had built for her,
Just in search for her to hold him down,
And bring him back to life,

She couldn't resist living life,
Knowing that he would live in misery and rage forever,
As if he was asking her to resurrect his soul,
Only to wonder if she was the one who would only keep him in control.

She pulled him up towards her,
Trying to control his staggering steps,
Only her voice now breaking through the barriers of his rage,
But he never knew that the knife would pierce him through.

She pulled him off from his misery,
And he was right to know,
That no matter how powerful his rage was,
Her eyes would be dangerous than his angered soul.

Singing him a lullaby,
With a lone tear dropping from her eye,
Asking him to forgive her,
Because with his soul she can't survive,
As the monster in him was slayed,
He looked at her with his lifeless eyes,
Sometimes love is not what saves you,
Sometimes it is the one that destroys you

When You Say Nothing At All

When You Say Nothing At All

Watching you sleep tonight,
Underneath the sheet of stars,
With the moonlight kissing your cheeks,
Lucky I am to see this sight.

My heart gallops on the field of love.
Like a Gazelle leaping around in happiness,
I try to control myself,
Looking at you with tears of love in my eyes.

Wondering if you were true or a figment of my imagination,
Eyes enormous enough that can captivate my soul,
Looking right at me just being wonderful as you are,
Forcing me to just sit there and look at you all day long.

As you just smile there,
With those beautiful looking curves that the world has ever seen,
Making my world just hover around those lips which teases my heart out,
Only to make me realise how beautiful you look.

The quiet glimpses that you take while I sleep,
Caressing my hair and just looking at me and doing nothing,
Just sharing the moisture from my cheeks and gifting me a lipstick stain as a morning surprise,
With you around in my life just being a gift from life to spend my eternity with.

All I am left is at a loss of words,
When I see you spreading your magic around my heart,
Doing nothing just blitzing with my heart,
To make me fall in love with you every single day.

I can see you speak your heart,
When the world is shouting in front of you,
You speak the loudest,
When you say nothing at all.

You being the most magnificent creation,
Is what completes my identity,
Your company is what makes my heart tick,
And you my love is all that my soul can ask for
