The Rush
"I need you alright. I NEED YOU!!"
As she said he disconnected the phone
He knew that he might not make it on time
And how could he when he was busy saving lives.
She was there sitting right besides the phone.
Waiting for him to call back
She waited for the entire day
Because it meant the world to her
the day meant a lot to her
She wanted to be with him the entire day
He knew how much he meant to her
That even a small smile and a kiss on her forehead
Would send chills down her spine
He was there at the hospital
Lost in his oceans of memories and how she became his everything.
How she had redefined him and made helped him
To achieve his dreams
Luck had always been with them
Ever since he first laid eyes on her at the coffee shop
He couldn't sway his mind off of her
She had got the attention of the biggest heart surgeon of the city in her palms that very moment
"The coffee is from the gentleman in black" said the waiter
Placing the cup at the table along with a tissue which had something written on it
She knew who he was
But couldn't believe her luck
That a nerd who she met in school
Turned out to be her only friend from school who she missed
Time might have been a beast back then
But it was an angel that day
From a cup of coffee to a dinner
And then to frequent meetings
The couple who was brought together by what seemed like a mere coincidence
Was actually brought together by time
Her remembers his last dinner with her before he was leaving town
She was dressed in a serene white dress
That night she could have melted the coldest of hearts
They both knew they had fallen in love but never admitted it
Until
The day he was boarding his flight
She knew how she felt, she hugged him tight
And wished for him to never leave her sights
As he made her feel complete
As he looked at her from a different perspective
which no guy had ever had, she could be herself around him.
As he was gonna bid adieu
She leaned forward and whispered in her ears "I love you."
This tale went on for years to come
To today when he had to stay at the hospital with a case when
They were expecting their first baby
He threw his files on the ground and rushed to her.
Only to find her...
Holding a child in her hands
They could see tears in each others eyes
and the love they shared had open his cute little eyes.
The tears normally met with a frown but that day
They had met a smile
